Halloween In The House

Posted by 2ma | Posted in , |

Don't worry, Halloween is not in my house! This is the theme for One Utama shopping mall Halloween celebration. Just like last year, the mall did a great job in putting up nice Halloween decorations & activities.

Shan Leo is excited and at the same time a little scared. Nevertheless, we had some great fun taking photos and checking out the booths. We love the booths that sell all the Halloween costumes & accessories. Its so scary!!! Nice to see, but I doubt I would want to put that on.

As usual, I tried to take as many photos that day but my camera battery's red light indication is blinking. I didn't charge it earlier, thinking that I still have half of the battery life to last me for the day. Boy, oh boy, I was so wrong *sigh*

Hence, we quickly take some photos. Getting both the boys to take a decent photo is so tough. Shan Rae kept walking away, and Shan Leo is so busy talking and looking everywhere. And, this photo here was taken after a series of yelling & screaming *shake head* The outcome is 1 closed eyes, and the other trying to walk away! *geram-nya*

Just before the camera battery dies off, I better make sure I have a photo of myself with the boys too.

And, here are a few more photos taken that day. The rest of the photos is available in my Facebook album.

Shan Leo with his version of scary face.

Shan Rae didn't like all these scary things...and he was crying, and crying...asking mummy to carry him away.

Some friends asked if we will be bringing the boys to any Halloween party this year. Sadly, we are not going to any Halloween party. Hence, I will end this post with a photo of my "Flinstone boys" taken last Halloween. Happy Halloween everyone!

Shan Rae @ 18 Months

Wow, Shan Rae is already 18 months now! And soon, he will refused to let me carry him and hug him to sleep :(

Shan Rae really have a character of his own, which is a total opposites from his kor-kor. Till today, he still refused to speak and only says a few words like "no more", "pizz" (please), "mum mum" (food), "merk merk" (milk), "kor kor", "meh meh" (mummy), "por por" (grandma), "moe moe" (kau moa), "kung kung" (grandfather), "ma ma" (that's me, kai ma), and the most often used word "kerk kerk" - which basically addresses most of us.

So, Shan Rae calls daddy as "kerk kerk", mummy as "kerk kerk" and me as "kerk kerk" too. It is only in times of desperation, Shan Rae will call me "ma ma". Out of all the words he knows, Shan Rae says "kor kor" the loudest, the clearest and the most often!

He loves to imitate all the things kor kor does. And whenever kor kor plays with his toys, he will want to play with the same toy. When kor kor wants to read his book, he will quickly grab it! The best part is, whenever he falls or broke something, his response will be "kor kor". Shan Rae is trying to tell us that "It's kor kor who did it" or "Kor kor pushed him" *shake head* Really, really cheeky boy!

Shan Rae never failed to amuse us with his funny and wacky expressions. Well, how nice if I can capture each & every single expression in camera.

Many of times, we have to use force if we want him to do something. Each time, he will scream his lungs out when we put him in the stroller. But, the moment he sits in the stroller, and we start pushing him around, he will stop crying! Sometimes, when he is tired, he will refused to let anyone else to carry him except mummy. Hence, I will usually forced my way to carry him, and he will be ok. Funny boy rite?

When it comes to eating, he loves to eat what we eat. And the moment he see any of us holding any food, he will quickly go near that person. If we ever offer him any food, we will have to make sure we give him the whole piece. Or else, he will throw away the piece of food that you cut or broke into half for him! And 2 days ago, we realised that - to make him eat his food, we have to pretend feeding kor kor. Once he sees it, he will quickly open his mouth to eat his food! *haha*

Even though Shan Rae's progress as a 18 month toddler is not too impressive, and very different from his kor kor when he was the same age then - we are glad to know that he is healthy and strong! I'll just say "Shan Rae is a slow & steady toddler"

An Old Photo Video Compilation of Shan Leo

I was spring cleaning my hard disk when I discovered this photo video compilation I did long, long time ago. It is a compilation of photos taken when we took Shan Leo to HK & Macau back in 2007. We had a good laugh looking at the photos coz Shan Leo look so cute then. His chubby cheeks and his "senget" head signature pose *haha* Looking at these photos makes me wanna bring both the boys holiday together. And, its gonna happen really, really soon... Just look at the countdown calendar on the right side bar *hooray*

Yummy Food

We had lots of yummy food during on Merdeka Getaway. As promised, I will share with all what we had, which was really good. I will not be putting up all the photos of the food we had, but just those that we like.

Sitiawan - My brother brought us to "Mee Suah" town and of course, we have to try the famous red wine mee suah noodles. Everyone says this is good!

We even bought some mee suah home. If I am not mistaken, this restaurant - Bei King is quite well-known in Sitiawan.

Sitiawan "Gong Soh Peng" - This outlet seems to be really famous. It is situated in a small corner shop, but while we were there waiting for our "Gong Soh Peng", there were a few cars (tourist) came to tah pau as well.

There are 3 flavours of "Gong Soh Peng" - plain, onion and char siew. We bought the onion and char siew flavours. It is quite nice when eaten hot.

This is our TOP favourites throughout the trip - Manjung Coconut Jelly!!! We like it so much that we ta pau some back to hotel, and back to KL.

The jelly is really refreshing and light. And, after eating 1 coconut jelly, you will want another coconut jelly.

The verdict from everyone - Thumbs up!

We even have a chat with the boss. They are the first "coconut jelly" introduced in Malaysia, and if you are lucky, you may be able to find it in KL. Well, I am still looking for it. If you know, do let me know.

Pantai Remis - This place is crowded with locals. And, almost every table, you will notice this simple snack - Keropok Udang. This is nice when you dip with the famous Kg. Koh chili sauce.

Fish ball & "Yue Piu" soup

Crunchy baby squid

This is my favourite - Yam coated with sugar. It is really nice!! We ordered another plate despite we are full *hehe*

Another yam dish - the savoury version. I like this too.

Overall, all the food here is really good! What you see here is just some of the food we ate. I did not show photos of the rest of the food such as fried mee suah, fried rice with baby prawns, a pork dish, etc

This shop has no signage in front, but it has a big nangka tree right in front.

This is the name & address of the shop.

Tanjung Tualang - This place is famous for prawns. Well, I am no fan of prawns. Hence, I didn't eat any. But everyone else says its really good and fresh.

We ordered 2 types of prawns.

What I love the most is the refreshing jelly drink. I don't know what is the drink called, but it has a sweet and sour version. Since the sweet version is finished, we ordered the sour version. Yummy! It's really nice!!

Despite 1.5 hours wait for the food, everyone thinks it is worth the wait!

Longchamp & Crocs Craze

As what the title says, the pictures below says it all!!!

Longchamp Craze Ladies

This was something partially planned. Why? Coz, we talked about bringing our Longchamp bags for the trip, and surprisingly, my aunt brought hers too. And, my sis brought a spare one to match clothes. So, here you are...6 happy Longchamp ladies!!! *haha*

I bet you all must be wondering what is this Longchamp craze??? It all started by me. Remember, I went to HK a few mths back. I bought myself a limited edition Longchamp bag. And, I was telling my aunt, if there is any sales for Longchamp bags, inform me. To cut the story short, there was a sales, and all of us quickly placed our order *yippee* So, this is the story behind the Longchamp ladies *haha*

Crocs Craze Bunch

Almost all of us are Crocs fans. And, after taking the photos of our bags, someone suggested we should do the same for our Crocs too! It was so difficult to get Shan Rae to stand still for us to take this shot. In fact, there were a few of us trying to take this shot. It was really funny coz we ended up taking photos of our camera & Crocs!!! It was really chaotic *haha*

After trying a few times to get Shan Rae to stand still, we gave up. So, this is one photo of our Crocs minus Shan Rae's spidey crocs.
