For All Things Wonderful

This is a print screen of Shan Leo's drawing which is posted in this fairly new blog, For All Things Wonderful - This space is created to showcase the works of the extra ordinary talents out there. I found out this blog from Merryn when she discovered that her origami cat was showcased at the blog. Hence, I decided to write to For All Things Wonderful, and asked her (or him???) if Shan Leo's drawing qualify for that. And the next day, I saw this post *yeah* I am so happy! At least, I know being "thick skin by asking instead of waiting to be discovered gives immediate result! *hehe*

Day 2 @ Malacca (20 Apr 2009)

All of us woke up early on Day 2 as we wanted to head towards Malacca for food. Just before we leave the villa, I took a few photos of the boys by the pool. It was a hot & sunny day.

Here you see Shan Rae couldn't open his eyes coz the sun was so bright. So, Shan Leo offered his sunglasses to his lil' brother. Well, I think its a funny story line photo coz you can see how Shan Leo trying adjust the sunglasses for Shan Rae and at the same time, with his own eyes closed, trying to make sure his lil' brother look at the camera *hehe*

As we were heading to check out and returned the keys, Shan Leo once again reminded us that we have promised him that he could ride on a horse. Since the weather was so hot, and we couldn't see anyone around, we told him that he already took a pony ride last night. Well, Shan Leo insisted again, and since it was a promise, Shan Leo got his horse ride.

He enjoyed the horse ride a lot. But when I asked him which one he likes better - the pony ride of the horse ride? Guess what he reply us??? He says the pony ride is better *alamak* Anyway, Shan Leo looking smart here with his cowboy hat which his KK bought for him last night at the Cowboy Town.

Once we reached Malacca, we went to eat the chicken rice ball. We had planned to go for Nyonya food later of the day just before we head back KL. Hence, after our brunch, we walked around Jonker Street and bought Shan Leo a gun to match with his cowboy hat. Next, we went to the Red House area. The weather was really hot that we just spent some time taking photos. We were too lazy to walk up to check out the fort. Maybe, we will do it the next trip.

KK also insisted to bring Shan Leo to sit on the Eye of Malaysia ferris wheel. As we were about to buy our tickets, a gush of strong wind blew. The wind was really strong, and we saw the chairs and things on the table flying. Hence, we chickened out and decided that we shouldn't take any risk.

So, we went to Tan Kim Hock to buy some local snacks and tried their cendol. Hmm...no good! *shake head* There is no oomph or kick when you eat the cendol. Malacca cendol is nice because of the thick brown sugar *yummy* Thus, we drove back to Jonker Street and bought another 2 packs of the cendol *yum, yum* We also bought some pineapple tarts there. And we leave shortly after that. No Nyonya food fo us coz all of us are still full. So, we said "good bye" Malacca! While daddy was driving, all of us fell asleep in the car. Poor daddy have to struggle keeping himself awake throughout the whole journey back.

Day 1 @ A-Famosa, Malacca (19 Apr 2009)

This trip to A-Famosa was supposed to be the back-up plan to celebrate Shan Rae's 1st birthday. We thought that since there is no party for Shan Rae, we will celebrate it elsewhere. Hence, A-Famosa came into the picture.

We took a slow drive to A-Famosa on a lazy & hot Sunday morning. Once we reached A-Famosa, we head towards Animal World. Sadly that KF & KM can't join us cause they brought along the dog, Kinki. Hence, we went separate ways.

The boys enjoyed the Animal World a lot. But not so much for us. Personally, I find that the Safari ride a little boring. There aren't many animals too see, and those animals that we see are too lazy to move. Anyway, after the 15 minutes Safari ride, we took a short break for a quick snack before we run for the Cowboy show, Multi-Animal show, Bird show and finally the Elephant show. It was back-to-back, and we have to move fast from one show to the next show.

All the shows are ok except that the sound system is a little poor. I could hardly hear what the emcee says. Besides all the shows, we even took an elephant ride. The park closes at 5pm, and we didn't have time to cover the Monkey Island and other places after all the shows. In the evening, we went to the Cowboy town. And the highlight of the night was the fireworks show. That was the best of all for the day. We had an up close view of the fireworks. Lovely!

Here are some photos of the day. P/s: I couldn't load the pictures in Slide. Hence, I only picked these few pictures.

A picture of daddy & Shan Rae feeding the parrots. All the parrots came looking for food, and hence, Shan Rae gets to feed the parrots.

Here we are enjoying the shows...

We even took some pictures with the cast from the Cowboy show. Both the boys are busy looking at the Red Indian, and we have a tough time getting them to look at the camera *sigh*

Shan Leo enjoying his pony ride. He just love it! And he looked so cute riding the pony.

Back at the villa, Shan Leo enjoy a quick "swim" in the pool. And this is a photo of Shan Rae, an hour before we leave the Animal World. He was so tired! And the weather was so hot that we have to strip him down to his diapers only!

Shan Leo's Art Gallery III

Shan Leo's drawings has definitely improved lately. KK do guide him a fair bit. More importantly, Shan Leo have passion for drawing! Here are a few of my personal favourite...

It's a rabbit here which KK says V.V.Good! Too bad Shan Leo spelt it wrongly...

Here is a fox. Nice!

A long hair girl with a bird flying above.

A lovely parrot.

Pretty flower! KK grade it Good!

Shan Leo says this is daddy.

A computer.

Recently, Shan Leo will even self-grade himself - just like what KK will do. We think its so funny! Shan Leo thinks the hen is Not Good! When he thinks its Not Good, he will be reluctant to share with KK! Honestly, I think the hen is really Good!

Another drawing that Shan Leo thinks its Not Good. It's a mice...

And finally, a parrot that he thinks is a Little Bit Good! Funny boy hor? *hehe*

Easter Sunday Activities

This Easter, we stayed at home for some simple home-styled activities. We spent the afternoon making Easter cards for all of Shan Leo's classmates. Since Shan Leo has 24 classmates, he had to make 24 Easter cards.

Initially, he was enjoying it. But after a few, he was complaining and whining that he has to do so many. Hence, we helped him with a few.

Check out all these colourful Easter cards. Not bad hor? Besides making the Easter cards, we also tried painting the Easter eggs. It was tough! The outcome was ugly *hehe* So, no photos on that. Anyway, Shan Leo gave out all the Easter cards to his classmates the next day.

Shan Leo When He Was 1 Year Old Then

I have always wanted to share Shan Leo's 1 year old photo shoot for a long, long time. But I never get myself doing it. And since most of you have seen Shan Rae's photo shoot, it will be nice to take a look at Shan Leo's 1 year old photo shoot as well. Besides, I really wanna share with all how chubby Shan Leo was then *smile*

Shan Leo looks really cute in the giraffe suit. In fact, this type of photo shoot is kinda old fashioned, and how I wish I knew Jazz & Sue then. Anyway, these photos are priceless. No money can bring me back to that day when we had this simple photo shoot.

A Visit to KL Bird Park

The Sunday before Shan Rae's birthday, we took the boys to KL Bird Park. I have read some good reviews about it, and we decided to bring the boys there. The entrance fee for My Kad holders are RM15/person, and for kids, it is RM6 (kids above 3 years old). If you have Jusco card, you get an additional RM5/- off the total amount.

The park is quite well maintained, and its not so crowded. Hence, we took a slow walk around the park checking out all types of birds. There are also a lot of monkeys in the park. Since Shan Leo had fed the monkey once when he was about 18 months old, daddy thought it will be nice that Shan Leo gets up close with the monkeys again. But this round, Shan Leo is not interested in feeding the monkeys. He was screaming his lungs out when daddy tried to push him forward to feed the monkeys. After a while daddy also gave up, and decided to try on Shan Rae instead.

From the first part of the video below, you will see how daddy holds Shan Rae's hand to feed the monkey.

In the second part of the video, you will see that Shan Rae is actually afraid of the monkey. After the first round, Shan Rae is kinda aware of what daddy is doing and the moment daddy hold Shan Rae's hand near the monkey, he actually pull back and drop the jelly bean. Oh yeah, we actually offered Shan Leo's jelly beans to the monkeys *hehe*

We were quite disappointed that both the boys doesn't want to feed the monkeys or the parrots *sigh* We have no idea why the boys are so scared of the cute parrots??? We thought kids usually love feeding animals or birds??? *scratch head* Anyhow, we were very impressed with Shan Leo cause he surprised us by telling us the difference of an ostrich and an emu!!!

At about 11.30am, we went for the bird show. Shan Rae enjoyed himself a lot. The moment the crowd claps, he will start jumping and clapping as well! So cute!!! *hehe* As the bird show about to end, the rain came. All of us were caught off guard, and everyone ran helter skelter for shelter. We waited for more than 20 minutes before the rain kinda stops. So, we walked to the restaurant for lunch. And as I was approaching the restaurant, my stupid slipper gave up on me!!! The sides came off, and I have to drag my feet all the way to the exit!!! Anyway, to keep the story short, I left the park and went home, while the boys and daddy & mummy stayed on.

Here are more photos of our visit to the KL Bird Park. Daddy even took the boys to the National Monument for a few photos.

Happy 1st Birthday to Shan Rae!

Yeah! Shan Rae is officially 1 year old! All of us had a great time!!! We took the boys to MegaKidz for some play time before we proceed to dinner at Chili's, Mid Valley. It was jut a small dinner with the family and my uncle & auntie who are visiting from HK.

We reached the restaurant early since Chili's doesn't allow for table reservation. Took lots of photos here and there while waiting for my brother & SIL to arrive. Well, they are the only ones working that day *hehe* Anyway, to make this simple dinner sightly special, we decided to have a colour theme. The chosen colours are red & white. Hence, all of us were dressed in red or white. We also make sure everyone wears a party hat. For the birthday boy, he wears a "Birthday Boy" badge on his shirt. In fact, Shan Rae wore that badge throughout the day, and those people who saw that will greet Shan Rae "Happy Birthday"! So sweet right?

Shan Rae, the birthday boy wore a red & white stripe shirt that has a white collar. He look so smart in the shirt which I bought for him *am so proud & happy haha* To make sure that Shan Rae gets to cut his 1st birthday cake, we sang Happy Birthday for him before we begin our dinner. All of us queue for our turns to take photos with the birthday boy.

I choose a Choo Choo Train birthday cake for him. The cake was really big, and after we finished our dinner, we only ate a small piece of the cake. As for my presents to Shan Rae, I gave him an angpow, his birthday clothing throughout the day, the birthday cake and the recent photo shoot (which I felt is more for myself than a present for him).

From the photos, you can tell Shan Rae had a great time. He was a happy birthday boy that day. We just can't resist ourselves from kissing this little boy *muacks, muacks*

So fast, the long waited birthday is over and Shan Rae is already 1 year old now. Looking forward, I wish Shan Rae will grow up healthily ad happily!!!

Shan Rae having a great time with daddy! He is definitely daddy's boy!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Shan Rae! Do check more photos of the day here.

Shan Rae's Photo Shoot

I have been looking forward to this photo shoot for Shan Rae. Shan Leo did the same when he turned 1 (I will try to dig back the photos and blog about it later). We thought this would be memorable and sweet to mark Shan Rae turning 1 year old. Yeah, time flies. Shan Rae will be officially 1 year old tomorrow!!!

Thus, I am delighted to engage Two Pixels Photography for this. Jazz & Sue did a lovely job and capture some lovely photos of me & Shan Rae in some "sweet, sweet" moments. Never thought I will own such photos in my life *tears rolling down* And of course, Shan Rae was in top form that day. Lots of smiles...and Jazz & Sue managed to capture a lot of Shan Rae's happy smiles *clap, clap hands*

Here are some of the photos which I personally like very much.
Love Shan Rae's smile here...with his naked body and the striking red leg/hand warmers

Since Shan Rae is turning 1, probably we won't be able to take such "baby shots" anymore

My favorite shot of the lot! Love Shan Rae's action!!!

A happy bathing shot

Naturally happy smile

Another happy smile which I adore!

Shan Rae look so matured in this shot! Yeah, turning 1 already!!!

More photos here...some of Shan Leo, daddy & mummy. Out of the 150+ photos, I have selected close to 60 photos to share with all. Hope you all like it as much as I do!
