Shan Rae @ 16 Months

Shan Rae will be turning 17 months in another 10-days. Well, that means I am late in updating Shan Rae's progress again. Anyway, here is all that I discovered/observed about Shan Rae.

This boy is still as light as ever. He had yet to reach 9kg! Shan Rae is still on BM, plus a daily dosage of formula milk in the morning. Just like any other toddler, he loves to eat what the adults eat. But he hates slimy or gooey food. Whatever he doesn't likes, he will just spit out *shake head*

Shan Rae still refused to speak!!! Well, he can understand all our instructions, and all the things we tell him. And, he can even understands our conversations about him!!! Thus, when he hear us talking about him, he will smile at us cheekily. Each time I ask him to call "Kai Ma", he will give me a kiss instead.

I also noticed that Shan Rae frowns a lot lately. More so, when he doesn't get what he wants, or he doesn't want what we gave him! Besides the occasional frown, Shan Rae is as smiley ever! He loves to dance in circles - meaning, he will circle and circle until he is topsy-turvy *hehe*

Comparing Shan Rae with his kor-kor, Shan Rae is Mr. Little KPC! He will usually wonder around the whole house, and touches almost every single thing that he can get his hands on!!! And just the other day, he broke 2 pieces of KK's fengshui ornaments!!! Shan Rae loves to throw things. Anything on his hand, he will just throw it!!! So, each time he holds anything (tv controller, cups, spoons, toys, etc) - he will just throw it - even when we tell him not to throw it & give it to us *shake head*

Shan Rae loves cars (vroom, vroom), or anything that has wheels on it. Besides cars, he loves handphones! Shan Rae would want to hold the handphone each time mummy uses it. And you can see how his eyes lift up when he sees you holding a handphone.

I also noticed that Shan Rae is beginning to show jealously when he sees mummy playing with his kor-kor. He will quickly push away his kor-kor, and cling to his mummy for attention! Hence, I reminded mummy to be more careful on this! Shan Rae also wants to play with any toys that kor-kor is playing, and any toys on his kor-kor hands are better than all the other toys!!!

I guess that's all about Shan Rae @ 16 months. Here is a photo of super cool Shan Rae *tickle, tickle* No matter what we did, he refused to smile or look at the camera!

More Vroom, Vroom!

Shan Rae really enjoys himself each time he gets to play on the "car". He will go "vroom, vroom" happily!

When I tried to take his photo, he closed his eyes as a form of protest!

And, after much coaxing - he reluctantly let me take his photo. As you can see, he was still busy "vroom, vroom-ing".

Check out how Shan Rae easily maneuver the car with one hand :)

Durian Feast

Our first time going to a durian buffet. The boys, especially Shan Rae enjoys it very much. Shan Rae kept asking for more durians... We don't dare to feed him a lot, and makes sure he drinks lots of water.

After a while, I asked Shan Rae to show me his thumbs up (GOOD!), if he likes the durian. And here is a GOOD! from Shan Rae *haha* He was reluctant to entertain me initially coz he was enjoying his durian. And, I go and kacau-kacau him coz I want to take photo. So, I told him, if you want to eat more durians, show me the GOOD! first *yeah*

Next, I ask Shan Leo to do it too. He was reluctant coz he was not in a good mood. Shan Leo tripped & fell earlier - while helping to bring a chair over. Hence, he became moody. Luckily, I managed to cheer him a little, and you can see a "little" smile here!

We finished eating in about an hour's time. As we were walking back to our cars, Shan Rae wants to check out the durians. He wants to touch the thorny, thorny durians.

Ooh... this is how thorny, thorny feels! *ouch* I tell you, this budak really have lots of expressions!!! Very, very funny most of the times!!! If only I can capture every single expression... it will be priceless!

Precious Moments (9)

I always feel such brotherly love (holding hands) can only be seen when the boys are young. As they grow older, they will feel yucky holding hands! So, I want to capture it and show the boys later.

Birthday Dinner @ Chili's

In the evening, we celebrated Shan Leo's birthday at Chili's. We reached there at about 6.30pm after we finished our shopping. We were supposed to shop for Shan Leo's birthday present that day coz KK wanted to bring Shan Leo to choose his bicycle. But during lunch, Shan Leo said he wanted a computer instead. So, KK said he will buy a computer for Shan Leo! Well, we didn't shop for a computer that day. But, I have been assigned to look for one. Any recommendations?

Anyway, back to the dinner. We went to Chili's again coz we have no idea whereas to go *haha* Besides, Chili's is Shan Leo's favourite restaurant! I love this photo of Shan Leo with daddy, mummy & Shan Rae. Everyone was looking at the camera - nice!

Shan Rae trying to grab a cup cake for himself! Guess he is hungry! BTW if you are wondering if we ordered 2 sets of cup cakes for Shan Leo's birthday??? Well, the answer is NO! The cup cakes are from the morning birthday celebration at the kindie. Teacher adviced us to cut the cup cakes into half for all the kids. In the end, we have all these balance!!! So, we save money from buying another cake!

We sang Happy Birthday for Shan Leo - minus the Chili's way. Coz we wanted to do it twice for Shan Leo! Hence, the Chili's crew came later with their complimentary cake and birthday song. I am actually quite disappointed with Chili's service this round.

5th Birthday Celebration @ Kindie

Just like last year, Shan Leo celebrated his birthday at his kindie with all his classmates. We had a great time planning for it, and getting everything else ready for the mini party. We went to Shan Leo's kindie at about 9.50am, and quickly unpack all the party "pails", party hats and the birthday cup cakes. Soon, the kids are coming in. Once we got everyone seated, we quickly put on the party hair bands for all the kids.

We called upon the birthday boy to stand in front, and he stood there shyly. All the kids sang Happy Birthday (English & Chinese version) for Shan Leo.

While mummy & teacher busy giving out the cup cakes to all the kids, I called upon the kids one by one to come forward for their party "pails".

Shan Leo with all his classmates. Majority of his classmates are girls. And quite a few of them are much taller than Shan Leo :(

And, here is a photo of Shan Leo's much talked about girlfriend, Amanda. They naturally hold each other's hand the moment I took their photo. Cute-nya!!!

And of course, a photo of me & my darling Shan Leo!

After all the kids finished their cakes and collected their party "pails", we quickly gather everyone for a group photo. I had forgotten to take a group photo of everyone earlier with all the pretty cup cakes.

Once again, Amanda will move to the front and stand next to Shan Leo in almost all the group photos I took. And she is really not camera shy! Lots of expression!!! *haha*

A group photo of us with all the kids! Let's say F-I-V-E!

And, this is probably one of my favourite group photo of the day! All the kids with their teacher. We finished everything in about 30 minutes. Shan Leo continued with his class while we head home.

Pre-Birthday Celebration Day Trip @ Genting Highlands

We took the boys to Genting Highlands again for a day trip. This is a pre-birthday celebration for Shan Leo. Lucky boy hor! Daddy suggested we bring the boys for a cable car ride.

In the end, only the 3 of us went, while daddy drove up with Shan Rae coz he was still sleeping. Shan Leo really enjoyed his cable car ride. And I am sure he would want to sit on the cable car again. By the time we reached, daddy was already there waiting for us.

As we were heading to the car park, I saw this place opposite the mushroom farm - which is filled with yellow daffodils. Its so beautiful from far!!! In fact, when you look in between the long leaves, there's a lot of rubbish *yucks* Anyway, who cares as long as I can't see it from my photos *haha*

There's a horse statue there, and the boys sit on it for a quick photo shoot.

We took a short rest munching Mamee & Cheezels. Can you see how Shan Rae manja his mummy?

And now, he manja his kor-kor? Shan Rae has a very manja habit which he will do often to his daddy, mummy & kor-kor. I am still waiting for my turn :(

After we left the place, we headed to Chin Swee Temple, coz we took a wrong turning. And since, we were already there, we walk around the temple.

I love this photo of mummy & Shan Rae. Such a happy photo!

We left the temple for lunch at one of the restaurant inside the mushroom farm. Food was ok. We took a few photos there, but I only picked this one coz its daddy & Shan Rae happy moment.

Finally after lunch, we headed to the indoor theme park. Shan Leo has been asking us non-stop since we reached Genting Highlands. This time, I didn't take much photos of the boys enjoying the rides.

I took mostly photos of the boys when they were taking a break.

Here, my KPC - busy wandering around again.

This time round, our day trip is more leisure coz we went on a Saturday. We need not rush back home coz Shan Leo don't have class the next day. Well, the disadvantage of going on a Saturday is longer queue for all the rides. I am glad that Shan Leo enjoyed all the rides, especially the bumper cars. He just can't get enough of it. Anyway, we hope that the next round we visit Genting Highlands, we can go to the outdoor theme park instead.
