Shan Rae @ 17 Months

At 17 months old, Shan Rae is as cheeky as ever. We see him growing up fast, except for his weight which still remains stagnant. In fact, his weight has dropped a little when he was admitted to hospital for some virus attack.

Shan Rae weighs approx 8.6kg only, which is considered underweight :( When I look at his first 6 months photos, he was a little chubby, and now, you only see a small tiny face. Anyway, as long as he is healthy, no asthma attack or fall sick, we will find a way to fatten him *hehe*

This cheeky one is as smiley as ever. And he loves to smile with his eyes closed. And when you teased him, he will take a peek at you, and smile. Shan Rae loves excitement. He loves it when you "chase" him, and play peek-a-boo with him. He will laugh "GA GA GA" loudly! And even before he can walk properly, this boy is beginning to RUN!!! It is quite stressful to see him run, coz he run like a drunkard... Besides trying to run, he loves to climb the tables, chairs, beds, etc

Shan Rae is a demanding toddler. When he wants something, he will want it, no matter what. If he doesn't get what he wants, he will CRY loudly!!! Just like this...

And, to stop his crying, either you give in to his demand, or give him something else. He will immediately stop crying!!! In short, cry fast, stop also very fast!!! *hehe* Shan Rae still refused to speak. He still calls me "ga kak". Other than that, he can call "ba ba", "kor kor", "po po", and "gong gong". The other day, Shan Rae surprised us by saying "flower"!!! He pronounced it quite clearly *clap, clap hands* I am waiting for the day Shan Rae will speak a few more words...

Doc says "Its Some Kind of Virus Attack"

- Backdated Post -

That's what doc says! Its not rotavirus. Its just some kind of virus. What virus? Unknown virus. Anyway, my poor boy is healthy and jumping around now.

Shan Rae was admitted to the hospital on 8th Sept, and discharged on 11th Sept. Initially, we were worried sick that it was rotavirus. Shan Rae vomited 5 times on the night of 7th Sept, and he continued vomiting till the next day. Hence, when he was admitted to hospital, doc put him on drip. He also have diarrohea, and it was really messy - coz it was watery stools.

Doc took his urine & stool for lab test, and he just mentioned that it was some kind of virus attack. Till today, we also dunno how Shan Rae caught the virus. We only suspect that he probably put his (dirty) hands in his mouth.

Anyway, I am glad that Shan Rae was ok throughout his stay in the hospital. After his initial stay in the hospital a few months ago, he seems to be more at ease this round. At least, he didn't cry the moment he sees the nurse. Even when the nurse give him a jab, he will just cry a little. The funny part was when the nurse wanted to take his blood pressure, Shan Rae just lift up his hand for the nurse without asking *clap, clap hands* Ooh boy, I am really proud of you!

Sanitizing Hands

Ever since the outbreak of H1N1, mummy always carry a small bottle of hand sanitizers with her. And, she will sanitize the boys hand before meals, after they touch the floors/dirty places, when they get into the car, etc

Mummy is doing it so frequent that each time she takes out the hand sanitizers, Shan Rae will automatically open up his hand to ask for the hand sanitizers. Once you put some on his hand, he will knows how to rub it till dry.

I personally find it really cute!!! I mean, looking at a 17 month old requesting for hand sanitizers *silly me* :D

Test, Test Water

A week before we went to Damai Laut, we decided to fill up the pool for the boys to test, test water. Well, its actually more for Shan Rae. Malu to say, this boy have not really been to a pool. So, we want to mentally prepare the little boy.

Shan Leo enjoyed himself a lot. He was telling us that he is not afraid of the water anymore. But, it kinda turned out differently when we were in Damai Laut (which I will blog about it later).

Shan Rae was obviously not too happy. We actually forced him to go inside the pool. You can see his expression-less face here *hehe* His muka so panjang. And, after much coaxing, he sat down (inside the pool) for a short while. I was thinking he will probably starts enjoying himself soon...

5 minutes later, Shan Rae was calling for HELP!!! He wanna get out from the pool. Poor Shan Rae! I gave in, and "rescued" him from the hell pool *haha*

"Belle"

In case you are wondering why my title is "Belle" (the main female character from the animation - Beauty & The Beast)...

Well, here is "Belle". Err... she is not exactly "Belle". She is actually Irene, my cousin. She travelled all the way from HK with her hubby, Alvin for their KL wedding dinner event.

Ok, back to "Belle". Shan Leo loves the Beauty & The Beast animation a lot. And, when he saw Irene dressed up in her lovely blue gown, Shan Leo was mesmerized by her. Besides, he loves all the brides!!! Whenever he attends any wedding, he would want to give the bride a flower. So, that kinda explains why my title is "Belle". Shan Leo was very happy that night coz he gets to attend another wedding dinner, and of course meeting "Belle" in person!!! *hehe*

Anyway, here I would like to congratulate Irene & Alvin once more!

P/s: My darling Shan Rae has been discharged from the hospital today *hooray*

Just 1 Day Difference

This happy face of Shan Rae was taken on Monday. He was happily playing with us.

And, this was taken yesterday (Tuesday). My poor darling is hospitalized for suspected rotavirus :( So sum tung!!!

Can you see blood in the tube on his hand? Well, thanks to the trainee nurse!!! *slap, slap* Shan Rae vomitted, and poo-poo on his clothes. Hence, we have to clean him up & change his clothes. And, since he has a tube attached to his hand, we called the nurse to assist. The trainee nurse (heartless & black-face) struggled for almost 30 mins before we tell her to ask for help! By then, blood was already oozing out. Another 2 nurse came, and took another 30 mins before they managed to clear up the mess. But, am glad to say that Shan Rae was very brave. He didn't cry much throughout. My brave boy!

We will just have to wait for Doctor to come in this morning to let us know the results from Shan Rae's stool & urine test. Pray, pray my darling will be fine and can be discharged from the hospital today!!! *pray, pray*
