Yes, we will be away for holidays during this period of time. Everyone is very excited. Seems like, I am more excited than the boys!!! *wide grin* I am sure everyone will be asking where are we going for holidays??? Well, the answer will be revealed once we are back. I will be taking tons of photos to share with all when am back! This is the first time that we will be travelling with both the boys out of the country. We hope that Shan Rae will enjoy his first plane ride. Till then, happy holidays to all!
This is the year end class photo for Shan Leo's class - 5 Love. His class has more girls. And, when he showed me the photo, he can even tell me who are the pretty girls in his class.
I just love this photo. Shan Leo smiled so happily.
Besides the class photo, it is also report card time. And, just like last year, Shan Leo did quite well. Mummy is happy. She spent a fair bit of time doing revisions with Shan Leo. And looking at the intensity of the revision, I dare not think how it is gonna be like when Shan Leo enters Primary 1 *shake head*
He even scored an A for writing :D Usually, when he does his work at home, he writes horribly. And, when it comes to his kindie/exam time, Shan Leo writes neatly! Anyway, as a reward for him, I have promised to bring him watch any 3 movies. And, Shan Leo still remembers mummy promised him that he can choose a present from Toys'R'Us, with a value of not more than RM10! Yes, its just RM10. But Shan Leo is so excited. At the end of it, mummy increased the value to RM15 coz Shan Leo couldn't find anything decent with RM10!!! *haha*
As a year-end gift from the teacher, each student received a personalized photo frame with a class photo inside. Next year, Shan Leo will moved to another class, and he will be meeting some new friends. For now, Happy Holidays to Shan Leo and all the other kids! P/S: How I wish I am a kid too??? I also want long holidays!!!
Just like last year, Shan Leo is very excited about his concert. He eagerly waits for his class turn for the show time. We were asked to arrive at the concert venue at 3pm. And by the time we were there, almost 70% of the students were already there! It is not that we are late, but the rest are extremely early *haha*
Immediately upon arrival, we usher Shan Leo to the dressing room. There were 3 different classes of students in the same room. Anyway, the teachers were really fast. They changed the children, and even help to put on some make-up for the kids. Am glad that the teachers didn't put on any make-up for Shan Leo this year *phew*
I sneaked in to the dressing room a couple of times to take photos. And, the teachers have to keep chasing all of us out *hehe* I think it is almost impossible to stop the parents from sneaking in to take some precious photos of the kids.
After a while, I quietly took Shan Leo out of the room and quickly took a few photos. And by the time we went in to the hall, it is already packed. Luckily my mum went with us. Hence, she help us "chup" some seats :D
I ran out from the hall again the moment I saw some of the kids walking out. I took some photos of the other kids coz all of them are so cute in their costumes.
The most adorable ones are those 3 years old group. You can see more photos in my Facebook photo album.
Finally, its Shan Leo's class turn to move to the hall. It is so difficult for me to take his photos becoz he was not listening to me. I have to keep calling him many, many times before he turn his head to look at me *argghhhh*
Shan Leo hurriedly walk into the concert hall. Before the concert begins, the Principal reminded all parents not to rush forward with their cameras & view cam coz they have engaged a professional video services to record the whole concert. And, there were 4 photographers that day to capture every single students. Hmm...I wonder how possible??? Anyway, let's see.
Check out Shan Leo shaking his body! You can spot him - the 1st boy from left. P/S: Can you spot the 3 photographers?
Those of us with our own cameras have to stand quite a distance away. Hence, all you see here is the best my camera can do *sigh* P/S: Shan Leo is the 6th kid from the right.Overall, it is a good concert!
Attention All Maclaren Stroller Owners! Please take note!!! I found out this piece of news from Pauline & my aunt.
Stroller Recall: Maclaren Burns Fingers on Response
By SEAN GREGORY Sean Gregory – Tue Nov 10, 10:25 am ET, Yahoo NewsWhen they are rolling through the streets in strollers, toddlers are usually the ones throwing temper tantrums. Now it's their parents who are having the biggest fits. On Monday the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a stunning recall of some 1 million Maclaren strollers that were released nationwide from 1999 through November of this year. Maclaren, the 42-year-old British brand, is wildly popular among the young-urban-professional set. The strollers are light, compatible and upscale but not terribly expensive (the recalled models cost from $100 to $360).
This recall doesn't just involve one specific model. Stop using any single- or double-umbrella stroller with Maclaren written on it, says the CPSC. The problem: Maclaren received reports that 12 children had their fingertips amputated after they placed their fingers in the hinge where the stroller folds. "This is a very serious hazard," says Scott Wilson, spokesman for the CPSC. "We know child behavior, we know kids like to explore and sometimes put their fingers in places where they shouldn't be. But finger amputations that result from using a product that parents expect to be safe is unacceptable." (See the top 10 children's books of 2008.)
As a remedy, Maclaren is offering free hinge covers to better protect children. No matter where you live, you can order them on the Maclaren USA website. Yet as of Monday afternoon, it was difficult to access the site because it was overloaded. "We are working to address the issue," says Charlotte Addison, marketing manager for Maclaren USA. "We didn't anticipate getting the volume that we got today," she says, explaining that since Maclaren had originally planned to announce the recall on Tuesday, the site wasn't ready for the huge traffic. (You can also call 877-688-2326; good luck getting through.)
The recall is a nightmare for Maclaren. Prior to Monday, its strollers had a reputation for dependability. Now they're the ones that could cut kids' fingers off. The search terms "Maclaren fingertip amputation" pulled up more than 5,000 results on Google. The parent blogs are buzzing. One, Daddy Types, has dubbed the affair Macopalypse 2009. Another, called Mother Load, wrote the post "MacLaren recall: is there nothing safe?" The author wrote, "Fingertip amputation? And they had to get to TWELVE cases before they issued a recall?"
The nature of the product will make Maclaren's task even harder. "Anything relative to child safety tends to be off-the-charts viral," says Pete Blackshaw, a brand consultant for Nielsen Online. According to Blackshaw's data, new mothers are three times more likely than others to use social media and start blogs. "Given the higher order of sensitivity, parents are much more diligent," says Blackshaw. "They want to talk to friends, family and even strangers about their decisions. They'll go the extra distance."
Maclaren has posted two safety videos on YouTube, one of which demonstrates how to use the new hinge covers. Blackshaw recommends that Maclaren dedicate a Twitter account to dispensing mea culpas, information about how to order the repair kit and explicit instructions on how to use the strollers safely. As of Monday afternoon, a Twitter account called @MacLarenStrolle was linking to Web pages that don't exist. Another, @maclarenbabyUK, posts links to new Maclaren products, but there were no posts addressing the recall.
The company is doing better on Facebook. An entry on the "Maclaren Baby" page instructs consumers to e-mail sales@maclarenbaby.com with their name, address, telephone number, stroller model and stroller Vin number. The page also links to two more Maclaren-branded Twitter accounts. TIME clicked on both of them and received messages that the pages did not exist. (Those links have since been taken down.)
Maclaren's response hasn't been sterling. Yet over the long term, the company could recover. "I don't feel threatened by the stroller," says Greg Allen, a father of two who writes Daddy Types and who plans to keep using his Maclaren. And before saying how "really pissed off" she was about the recall, the author of Mother Load wrote, "I'm not ready to break up with you, Maclaren." The question is how many Maclaren parents will forgive and forget.
