Our "WooHoo" Chinese New Year

I have been busy (plus lazy) the last 2 weeks, and didn't managed to update about our CNY till today. So, how did our CNY go? It is really simple, just like any other family.

My mum will cook on Day 1 & 2.

Tea ceremony.

Family photo in the house.

Lo sang.

Chap Goh Mei party at my house.

And, what is "new" this year... We went to Thean Hou Temple.

Visited an orphanage during CNY.

So, this is our CNY. How was yours?

Sleeping with Style

Lately, I noticed that Shan Rae loves to sleep with his leg up or crossed when he is sleeping on his stroller. Hence, I took some photos of it so that I can show this cheeky little boy when he grows up.

Shan Rae is a light sleeper. Thus, we dare not touch him (adjust his leg) so that he sleeps slighty longer hours. Well, we wanna shop in peace... so, we just leave him as such!

Shan Leo also sleeps in style. These 2 photos were taken when he was about 21 & 27 months old. Shan Leo prefers to put his hands behind his head.

We find it really cute!!! *hehe*

100% Refreshing

I just hate the pre-CNY weather. It is so hot!!! The weather makes me so lazy :( Hence, if I don't go out early in the morning, before the sun rises, I will just stay at home. And, if I am at home, I will be sitting in front of my notebook, inside my room with the aircond power to the max.

And usually, I will make a cold drink for myself too - using my Thermos mug (so that my drink will stay cold longer). Guess what drink have I discovered???

It's C2 Cool & Clean Green Tea!

Made from 100% Natural Green Tea (not from powder and concentrates of green tea), it is definitely a healthier choice then my regular soft drinks. Besides, it comes in 3 refreshing flavors - Apple, Lemon & Forest Fruit. I love the Lemon flavor the most! Guess, anything that is lemony will be my first choice *hehe*

I saw this on the bottle - Catechins from green tea leafs. So, what is Catechins? Catechin is a natural powerful antioxidant found in green tea. It is also found in chocolate (cocoa), fruits, vegetables, wine and in many other plant species but it is most abundant in Green Tea. Thus, drinking green tea is surely a healthier choice for this coming Chinese New Year!

So, if you want to try C2 Cool & Clean Green Tea too, you can grab some at 7-11, Mydin, Giant, Jusco or any other shops near you. And, if you can't find it, come & visit me this new year. I will serve you with your preferred choice of C2 Cool & Clean Green Tea.

Lemon, Apple or Forest Fruit???

Holidays With The Boys - Macau

- Backdated Post -

We didn't cover a lot of places in Macau, partly because we were tired & lazy. Hence, we only visited a few casinos (Wynn, City of Dreams & Venetian), took some photos at Ruins of St. Paul and explore Rua do Cunha for food.

The weather in Macau is slightly cooler. We did look around for food - especially those that are recommended by some food bloggers. I am glad that we managed to try the following recommendations.

- Yishun Milk Co (Senado Square) - Double steam milk custard & egg custard
- Seng Cheong (Rua do Cunha) - Crab porridge & fried mace balls
- Wong Chi Kei (Senado Square)- Wanton noodles
- Margaret's Cafe eNata - Portugese egg tarts
- Gelatina Mok Yi Kei (Rua do Cunha) - Signature durian ice cream & sawdust pudding

Personally, I love the egg custard (with lots of ginger), the wanton, egg tarts & the durian ice cream. Too bad that we didn't managed to locate the pork chop bun at Tai Lei Loi Kei.

We didn't go to the Fisherman's Wharf this trip since there is nothing much to see. This place is only good for taking photos. And, we also skipped Macau Tower. No point going there if we are not going for the Skywalk. I remembered in my last trip to Macau with Shan Leo, I told myself that I would go for the Skywalk with Shan Leo in our next trip. But we knew him too well - we know he will chicken out the moment we reach the tower. Hence, we decided not to visit Macau Tower.

Of all the casinos in Macau, we only went to 3 casinos (Wynn, City of Dreams & Venetian) together with the kids. We watched the 2 free shows - Tree of Prosperity from Wynn & The Bubble from City of Dreams. I would strongly recommend that you watch The Bubble. Shan Leo loves it so much that he watched it twice. Should time allowed, he would have gone for the 3rd show *hehe*

These are the few photos I picked for this post.

Behind Shan Rae is the old Lisboa Casino.

Shan Leo safe guarding my birthday cake. I celebrated my birthday again in Macau :D Thanks to my ever thoughtful BIL!!!

In front of Lisboa Casino again.

Across the road (opposite Lisboa Casino) is Wynn.

Dunno what were the boys doing. But, Shan Rae gave me this funny face (eyes closed) when I asked him to pose for photos. And as usual, Shan Leo also busy doing other things :(

At Ruins of St. Paul.

Senado Square.

Finally, a happy & smiley photo of Shan Leo at Senado Square.

Holidays With The Boys - Hong Kong

- Backdated Post -

This is such a backdated post. I was super lazy to update about our holidays back in December 2009. Thus, I kept telling myself I have to do it or else, the boys won't get to read about our great holiday when they grow up. So, I will keep this post simple. I will break it into 2 parts - HK & Macau, instead of blogging about it on a day-by-day basis *hehe*

So, let me begin with our HK trip. We arrived in HK at about 11am, and our dearest auntie & uncle came to the airport to fetch us. The moment we reached, they suggested that we go to Citygate Mall first. Since its near the airport, we lugged all our luggage (big & small) to Citygate Mall. Didn't managed to buy anything there. We shopped there till late afternoon before we went to check in our hotel.

For this trip, I choose Hotel Benito, which is located at Tsim Sha Tsui. I have read many good reviews about this hotel. Besides, it is really convenient. The hotel is just 2 minutes away from the MTR station.

After we checked in the hotel, we went to walk around. Same goes on the next day. The actual fun for the boys starts when we went to Disneyland & Ocean Park. We love both the parks. But sadly, we didn't managed to cover Disneyland entirely. This round, we missed out Tomorrowland, and partially Fantasyland *sigh, sigh* I made a big mistake of not planning to stay in Disneyland Hotel for a night. So, I told myself that we will bring the boys to Disneyland again, and we will stay in Disneyland Hotel.

The boys enjoyed Ocean Park too. It was definitely less hectic than Disneyland. We walked around leisurely, instead of chasing after Mickey Mouse, or Donald Duck :( Besides this 2 parks, we have also planned to go Victoria Peak and the Science Museum. But, we ended up not going coz the adults were not too keen of going Victoria Park again - since all of us have been to HK a few times. And as for the Science Museum, we were really determined. It is actually 10 minutes away from our hotel. Half way there, we discovered a big challenge! That is to carry the stroller up the pedestrian bridge!!! Well, we figured out that it is a little too challenging for us (me & sis - coz my parents & BIL went to Wong Tai Sin temple). Hence, we didn't make it there.

Food wise, it was so-so. Its not that HK don't have nice food, but when you travelled with a group, and you have young & old folks, convenience is really important. We will usually end up in any restaurant that is convenient & nearby for us. Nevertheless, our aunt took us to a nice restaurant for steamboat, and treated all of us a great dinner at a local restaurant. Besides eating at restaurants, we even ate at the smallest "char chan teng"!!! It was definitely a not very nice experience. We were basically stuffing the food down our throat instead of eating!!!

Anyway, we are happy to eat our favourite mango desserts at Hui Lau Shan. We are glad that there is 1 outlet opposite our hotel. It is so convenient. Besides desserts, I also love to eat curry "yue tan" (fish ball). And this trip, we discovered & fell in love with "kai tan chai"!

Here are some photos that I have selected for this post. The rest of the photos are available in Facebook :)

While waiting for an acrobatic performance to begin @ Ocean Park.

Still at Ocean Park.

My dearest BIL surprised me with a birthday message.

With Chip & Dale @ Disneyland.

My aunt suggested we rent a wheel chair since there is a lot of walking in Disneyland. That was indeed a great idea coz my parents took turn to sit on it. And when it comes to show time, they have special seating arrangements :)

The boys taking a short break, snacking while waiting for Princess Belle & Princess Aurora.

More snacking...

And finally, we witness the beautiful fireworks show @ Disneyland!!!

Breakfast at Charlie Brown Cafe. It is just 5 minutes away from our hotel.
