Good Reading Habit

Shan Leo loves to read! Whenever we are in shopping malls, he will ask us to bring him to the book store. And, if we give him a choice of book store or toy store, he will always choose book store.

Usually, he will pick up lots of books and sit at one place to read it. He can spend a long time inside the book store reading story books and all the dinosaurs books. But, one thing which I don't like is, he will make us sit next to him while he reads all the books. We can't even walk around the book store. If we do, he will pick up all the books and follow us. He will keep bugging us to sit with him. Luckily I owned an iPhone now *smile* Hence, the waiting is more bearable.

Magical iPad & iPhone!

Guess what I told Shan Leo so that he will give me this lovely smile?

I said "Shan Leo, if you want to play with the iPad or iPhone, please give me a nice smile". The moment he hear this, you can see how his face brightens up and the lovely smile came! Amazing huh?

Ever since I got the iPad & iPhone, the boys are crazy over it. Each time they see me, they will asked for it. Thus, I have made use of the iPad & iPhone as a motivating tool to make them listen or do their work. This is not exactly a good way, but it works!!!

Yogi Bear - Life's a Pic-A-Nic!

Another movie with the boys - Yogi Bear! We all enjoy it very much despite reading some poor reviews.

Since we went on a weekday, the cinema was not so crowded. While we were waiting to go in, Shan Rae's cheekiness caught the cinema's manager attention. He came over and spoke to me, and gave Shan Rae a packet of Cheezels! What a delightful surprise!

There were 2 empty seats next to us. So, half way through the movie, I allow Shan Rae to sit on his own. But, he is too light to sit on his own. The chair folds back when he sits on it!!! *ha ha* It was such a funny sight! He insist sitting on his own despite the chair keeps folding up!!! Hence, when he gets tired of the folding, he will ask me to hold the chair for him. I guess it will be a while before he gets to sit on his own when we go to the cinema :D

Did you bring your kids to watch Yogi Bear too?

Edamame Boys

Both the boys love to eat edamame! A yummy & healthy food/snack.

And, we usually order 2 bowls for the boys. One bowl each, or else, they will be fighting over the edamame :(

For Shan Rae, he enjoys the entire edamame eating process!

He will peel the edamame beans one by one. And, he will pop a few in his mouth at one go. No one else is allowed to touch his edamame!

Do your kids love edamame too?

Will This Be The Last Kumon Award?

- Backdated Post -

On 17th January 2011, Shan Leo received his 5th Kumon award for Mathematics at the Hutan Rimba Kiara. Before the award presentation ceremony, there was a tele-match for all the kids. We didn't accompany the boy during the tele-match, but we went there during the award presentation ceremony.

We were a little surprised with the poor planning of the award presentation ceremony. Everyone cramped under the tents, and there was no stage or proper area to give out the awards. You can tell from this photo that I was standing right behind the award presenters. Anyway, we are glad that we didn't have to wait too long for Shan Leo's turn. We left immediately after he received the award.

Since Shan Leo is attending Standard 1 now, we wonder if this will be his last Kumon award??? Whatever it is, we hope that Kumon has build a strong Mathematics foundation in him :D

An Important Date to Remember!

12th February 2011 marks a very important date to me. Shan Rae woke up with a happy mood despite not seeing mummy here. I am so happy!!! Shan Rae has grown up, and he can sleep without asking or looking for mummy. And this means, I will be able to spend more time with him, and mummy will be able to take a break during weekends.

P/S: I have been waiting for this day to happen for close to 1 year.

Melaka Zoo

- Backdated Post -

Just wanted to share with all on Melaka Zoo (the second largest zoo in Malaysia) coz this zoo is so much better than Zoo Negara!!!

The tickets are so much cheaper - RM7 (adults) & RM4 (kids) as compared to RM20/RM6 at Zoo Negara. The zoo is not very big, and the size is just nice for us to walk around with the 2 boys. We were surprised that this zoo has so many animals. Some of which, you can't find in Zoo Negara.

We saw Lemurs. And, it reminded me of the Madagascar movie.

Shan Leo told us these are Capybara.

White Crowned Hornbill.

Ugly & fierce looking bird. We can't remember its name :(

Wild Beast.

Orang Utan at the free range zone.

The zoo also has various type of parrots. These are just some animal photos I managed to take & share with all. Do check out the zoo for the rest of the animals.

If you are too lazy to walk, you can take the train.

The boys tried horse ridding. Too bad that the elephant rides were not available that day.

Posing with the giant tortoise.

All of us love Melaka Zoo. And, we strongly recommend anyone who visits Malacca to check out Melaka Zoo!!!

Hari Raya Decos

- Backdated Post -

These photos has been in my draft post for more than 4 months!!! Hence, I just wanted to share the photos instead of removing it from my draft.

Kampung feel Hari Raya deco @ Mid Valley.

Inside the big & nice wooden house.

This is the deco at One Utama. There is a padi field right in the middle. By the time we were there, everything has dried up :(

The boys reluctantly posed for me.
