Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom

Yeah, we watched Kung Fu Panda 2 recently. And, this is the first time we watched a 3-D movie, and we watched it at Genting Highlands. All of us enjoyed the movie a lot, and we love Po. I guess this will also be our last time watching a 3-D movie because none of us like it, and Shan Rae watched the entire movie without his 3-D glasses. The little boy even cried at the part where Po found out his true identity!

I am really glad Shan Rae has the patience to finish the whole movie without asking for this & that. Now, whenever we passed by a cinema, he will insist on going to the cinema. The other day, he told me he wants to watch scary movies, and asked me to bring him to watch all the scary movies. Well, no scary movies for him at the moment, but we will be watching Transformers: Dark of the Moon this weekend.

Hop, An Easter Themed Movie

- Backdated Post -

We watched Hop sometime in April 2011 around Easter season. The movie is quite similar to Alvin & The Chipmunks, except that the rabbit plays the drum. Anyway, Hop is about a bunny called EB who is supposed to succeed his father's business or role as the Easter Bunny. But EB dreams of being a drummer only. Hence, EB ran away from home. Well, for the rest of the story line, grab a DVD and watch it. Personally, I quite like the movie.

Precious Moments (32)

Shan Leo's piano performances over the years. Looking at this photo compilation, the boy has surely grown up a lot.

P/S: I love "mini" Shan Leo more because he look so cute playing on the gigantic piano :D

Nobody, Nobody (But You)

26 June 2011: Shan Leo participated in his school Talent Time competition. This is his second piano competition. His first piano competition was last year which he played Mamma Mia. Since mummy & daddy were busy, I accompany Shan Leo for the competition.

One month back, Shan Leo's piano teacher asked mummy if the boy wants to participate in the competition, which of course, mummy said yes. Instead of the teacher choosing a song for Shan Leo to play, mummy told the teacher to let the boy to choose. That is how Shan Leo ended up playing Nobody by Wonder Girls.

On the day of the competition, Shan Leo is still practicing the song. We were quite worried because just last week, he was only able to master half of the song playing with both hands, and the other half with one hand. Nevertheless, we still want Shan Leo to proceed with the competition.

There were about 12 contestants from his category (Grade 1-2). And, he is the only contestant who played a pop song. The rest of the contestants played songs from the usual music book that you learned every day. Some contestants played the violin and drum.

When it was Shan Leo's turn to perform, he played quite well in the beginning. Half way through, he forgot his notes. He has to pause for a while before he continues again. Anyhow, he completes the whole song.

Check out his piano performance here. Let me know what you think.

If you asked me, I will say that I am proud that he finished playing the whole song despite some glitches here and there. Besides, what can I ask for when it took him 8 lessons (or less) to master the song.

We left before all the performances ended because the competition was running really late. By the time we left at 7pm, there were still some other performances. Shan Leo was reluctant to leave cause he thinks he might win in the competition! *haha* All because of the compliment given by the Principal (one of the judges) after his performance. Anyhow, we left the place. Doubt the boy won anything since his teacher didn't contact us. But, in our heart, the boy surely deserves a medal :D
